Talks, deep dives and a panel discussion connect political and legal developments with the everyday questions people face in the event industry.
Baden-Baden – Working time law, pension reform, compliant personnel leasing and the use of artificial intelligence: the event industry is facing changes that can have a direct impact on crew planning and operational processes. CrewBrain Connect 2026 takes up these topics and combines current developments with hands-on experience from the field.
On 17 and 18 November 2026, CrewBrain brings users, partners and experts together at the Event-Akademie Baden-Baden. The programme ranges from political and legal frameworks through AI, time recording and software interfaces to the question of what companies can learn from the experience of others.
One focus of the event is on current legal and political developments. Among other things, the sessions address the German Working Hours Act (Arbeitszeitgesetz) and the recommendations of the German pension commission, and put them into context with regard to their possible effects on the event industry.
In an industry where working hours frequently fall in the evening and at weekends, and where crew is needed at short notice and on a project basis, putting working time requirements and documentation obligations into practice is a central issue – as is the pension commission's recommendation to abolish mini-jobs.
For Sven Schlotthauer, Managing Director of CrewBrain GmbH, the decisive point is therefore not to look at these developments in isolation: “Many of the topics currently occupying our industry cannot be considered separately from one another. Legal requirements influence planning, political decisions change the underlying conditions and new technologies open up different ways of working. At CrewBrain Connect, we want to bring these perspectives together and, above all, talk about what they mean in practice.”
Alongside the legal and political topics, digital processes take centre stage. CrewBrain provides insights into current developments and the further roadmap of the software. Under the title “CrewBrain meets AI”, the session shows what role artificial intelligence can play in everyday work in the future, and how natural language can be used as a new way of operating complex software.
Deep dives and workshops, for example on time recording, take up specific questions of application and offer room for a more in-depth exchange. The focus is not only on features, but also on how they can be integrated sensibly into existing processes.
With contributions from Production Assist, Vectorworks and Eventworx, CrewBrain Connect broadens the programme with solutions and perspectives from the industry. The partners provide insights into their respective fields and show which approaches can support companies in organising and implementing their projects.
Legal questions surrounding the deployment of personnel are addressed as well. Using concrete examples from practice, AÜG+ examines what matters when it comes to compliant personnel leasing. In addition, a panel discussion is planned that offers room for different points of view, questions from the audience and a shared exchange of experience.
With CrewBrain Connect, the company is creating its own two-day format for its community and the professional environment of the event and personnel services industry for the first time. Alongside the programme, time slots for conversations, exchange of experience and networking have deliberately been scheduled. A joint evening event on 17 November rounds off the occasion.
